Someone broke in through the front door by breaking the door jamb and then shifted through all her stuff, stealing precious items of family sentimental value, silver tea pot, jewelry, lap top, new sneakers etc. I heard form Officer Maragoni just the other day that a house on Russell near Essex was broken into midday."Let's be careful, mindful, and watchful. i just bought a house in south berkley and i am interested in the overall health of our community. it seems like there are a lot of angry youths roaming the streets around here, and i want to know what i can do to help redirect their disaffection. also, i would love to get some people invloved in a tree planting group with me. i think there are a lot of areas that need some love in this section of town. also, i would love to get a group of people together that to help me pick up all of the trash that is dumped around here. do you think the city would allow us to get rid of the refuse at the city dump for no free if we are a community group? i really think that this area is turning into a freat place to live, but we all need to help this area become even better. as much as i am timid about calling in police to solve complex sociological problems, i think we should try to put an end to the loitering on sacramento avenue. i have witnessed many drug deals and illegal activity going on amongst groups of young men that loiter on sacramento avenue, and i am sick of it. this is a great area with a lot of great people who deserve the best that we can all offer to each other. i want to see the children of south berkely grow up in a loving environment that fosters positive growth. we need more litter removal and tree planting, and less liquor stores, loitering drug dealers and negativity. i am a teacher at berkeley high school and i have lots of free time in the afternoons to help accomplish all of the goals i outlined in this email. if anyone is interested in organizing some community action i can be reached at kousha29@hotmail.com
